This series comprises project activity files retained by the Planning Department of the Lutheran Church in America's (LCA) Division for World Mission and Ecumenism (DWME). The material is from 1969-1986 with the majority of it dating from 1974-1986. Most of these files contain copies of project funding applications and applications for continuing assistance. They were retained by the Planning Department for the purpose of evaluation. Many of the original copies of these grant applications are located within the series of program files pertaining to the country for which the project was under consideration. Records in this series include project applications, correspondence to and from John Mangum, Director, Planning Department, applications for continuing assistance, activity ranking forms, and informational material, such as newsletters, photographs, newspaper clippings, and pamphlets and brochures pertaining to particular projects.
